The role connects planning data with actual engineering and construction performance, allowing project leadership to make timely decisions based on reliable forecasts. Working across MEP disciplines, the position will track engineering documentation, procurement, fabrication, subcontractor commitments, construction progress, and resource deployment. Accurate schedule analysis and early identification of delays will be critical to developing practical corrective measures and keeping project activities aligned with committed completion dates.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project schedules throughout all relevant stages of MEP delivery.
- Review manpower and equipment histograms weekly or monthly according to project reporting requirements.
- Assess resource allocation against scheduled workloads and recommend adjustments needed to maintain progress.
- Develop and maintain planned versus actual progress charts, histograms, S-curves, and other performance indicators.
- Analyze schedule deviations and clearly communicate their effect on project milestones.
- Track engineering documents, procurement activities, fabrication status, construction progress, and other scheduled deliverables.
- Forecast progress based on current productivity, outstanding activities, available resources, and project constraints.
- Compare actual achievement with baseline and updated schedule requirements.
- Identify gaps between planned and actual progress and assign attention to activities requiring corrective intervention.
- Review work sequences against the overall project programme to confirm logical and achievable execution.
- Determine critical path activities for assigned disciplines and specialist work packages.
- Identify significant activities and dependencies supporting interdisciplinary project requirements.
- Monitor interfaces between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV, HVAC, civil, architectural, and specialist works.
- Review subcontractor schedules and track submittals, mobilization, procurement, and execution commitments.
- Identify activities with critical or potentially critical effects on project completion.
- Analyze schedule slippage and recommend corrective actions or practical work‑around solutions.
- Support development of recovery schedules where actual progress falls behind approved targets.
- Evaluate the schedule effect of delayed approvals, material shortages, procurement constraints, resource limitations, and technical issues.
- Review construction sequencing to identify opportunities for acceleration without compromising technical requirements.
- Maintain updated planning information based on verified progress from engineering and site teams.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement personnel, construction teams, and subcontractors to obtain accurate schedule inputs.
- Monitor performance against baseline, revised, and recovery programmes.
- Prepare short‑term and look‑ahead schedules to support site execution priorities.
- Develop schedule commentary for monthly progress reports and other project control submissions.
- Prepare Critical Items Action Reports highlighting activities requiring immediate management attention.
- Present schedule performance using graphs, bar charts, S‑curves, histograms, and concise progress summaries.
- Maintain records of schedule updates, forecasts, progress measurements, assumptions, and identified constraints.
- Escalate significant programme risks and unresolved delays to the Lead Planner‑Scheduler and project management team.
- Support project control KPI monitoring and performance reporting.
- Assist with additional planning and scheduling activities required for effective project delivery.
