Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Physics laboratory equipment, apparatus, materials, and other resources required for practical lessons.

• Collaborate with Physics teachers to understand upcoming practical requirements.
• Coordinate with other Science Department staff when laboratory resources are shared.
• Support effective scheduling and use of laboratory facilities.
• Communicate equipment shortages, maintenance needs, and safety concerns clearly.
• Contribute to improvements in laboratory organization and resource management.
• Follow school policies relating to health, safety, student welfare, and safeguarding.
• Perform additional laboratory-related duties assigned by the Head of Science or school management.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a Diploma or Bachelor 's degree in Physics, Science, Laboratory Technology, or a closely related discipline.

Previous experience as a Physics Lab Assistant, Laboratory Technician, Science Lab Technician, or in a comparable technical laboratory position is preferred.

Experience within a school or other educational environment would be particularly relevant.

Applicants should demonstrate practical knowledge of Physics laboratory apparatus, equipment, experiments, and standard operating procedures.

A sound understanding of laboratory safety, equipment handling, storage practices, and emergency procedures is required.

Candidates should be familiar with maintaining laboratory inventories, equipment registers, consumable records, and related documentation.

Experience supporting Physics practical lessons, demonstrations, assessments, or examinations is advantageous.
