Job summary

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our client in Abu Dhabi. You will handle payroll processing across base staff, offshore, and freelance populations, ensuring timely validation of inputs and proper documentation for review.

The role requires 3–5 years in payroll, experience with WPS, and strong MS Excel skills, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in oil & gas or offshore environments.
• Experience with timesheet-based payroll, WPS, bank files, and payroll reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and process payroll inputs within defined cut-off timelines.
• Process salaries, allowances, deductions, promotions, salary revisions, new joiners, and leavers.
• Validate offshore timesheets and process timesheet-driven and freelance payroll.
• Prepare payroll outputs, bank/WPS files, and supporting schedules for review and authorization.
• Support retroactive corrections, payroll reconciliations, and GL-related documentation.
• Respond to routine employee payroll queries and escalate complex matters.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, change logs, working papers, and audit documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with payroll policies.

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll cycles across base staff, offshore timesheet-driven employees, and offshore freelance populations, ensuring all payroll inputs, changes, and supporting documentation are properly validated and prepared for review.
