Job summary

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our client in Abu Dhabi. The role covers payroll processing for base staff, offshore timesheets, and freelance populations, ensuring inputs are validated and ready for review.

Requirements include a Finance/Accounting/HR-related bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience, preferably in oil & gas or offshore environments. Strong Excel skills and confidentiality are essential.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in oil & gas or offshore environments.
• Experience handling timesheet-based payroll, WPS, bank files, and payroll reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
• Good knowledge of payroll processes and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and process payroll inputs within defined cut-off timelines.
• Process salaries, allowances, deductions, promotions, salary revisions, new joiners and leavers.
• Validate offshore timesheets and process timesheet-driven and freelance payroll.
• Prepare payroll outputs, bank/WPS files, and supporting schedules for review.
• Support retroactive corrections, payroll reconciliations and GL-related documentation.
• Respond to routine employee payroll queries and escalate complex matters as needed.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, change logs and audit documentation.
• Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with payroll policies.

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll cycles across base staff, offshore timesheet-driven employees, and offshore freelance populations, ensuring all payroll inputs, changes, and supporting documentation are properly validated and prepared for review.
