Job summary

Black & Grey HR Consultancy FZE is seeking a Payroll Officer to join its Abu Dhabi client in the oil & gas sector. You will manage payroll cycles across base staff, offshore timesheets, and freelance personnel, ensuring inputs and changes are validated and prepared for review.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in finance or related field and 3–5 years of payroll experience, with strong Excel skills and strict confidentiality to meet deadlines.

• Prepare payroll outputs, bank/WPS files, and supporting schedules for review.
• Support retroactive corrections, payroll reconciliations, and GL documentation.
• Respond to routine payroll queries with professionalism.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, change logs, and audit documentation.
• Ensure compliance with payroll policies and retention requirements.

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our client in the oil & gas sector in Abu Dhabi. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll cycles across base staff, offshore timesheet-driven employees, and offshore freelance populations, ensuring all payroll inputs, changes, and supporting documentation are properly validated and prepared for review.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and process payroll inputs within defined cut-off timelines.
• Process salaries, allowances, deductions, promotions, salary revisions, new joiners, and leavers.
• Validate offshore timesheets and process timesheet-driven and freelance payroll.
• Prepare payroll outputs, bank/WPS files, and supporting schedules for review and authorization.
• Support retroactive corrections, payroll reconciliations, and GL-related documentation.
• Respond to routine employee payroll queries and escape complex or sensitive matters.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, change logs, working papers, and audit documentation.
• Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with payroll policies and retention requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably within oil & gas, offshore, or other complex workforce environments.
• Experience handling timesheet-based payroll, WPS, bank files, and payroll reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Good knowledge of payroll processes and MS Excel.
• Ability to work within strict payroll deadlines and manage high-volume processing.
