Job summary

NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi Emirate seeks a patient-focused receptionist to welcome visitors, register new patients and manage front-desk operations. You will handle calls, process patient invoices, explain insurance coverage and collect co-pays or balances at service time.

The role requires strong English communication, good interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude. Training programs and adherence to hospital policies are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Diploma or graduate in any discipline.
• 1 year as trainee receptionist preferred.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and pleasing personality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, direct to appropriate departments and provide routine information about the hospital.
• Handle telephone inquiries and relay information to the doctor/nurse for callbacks.
• Manage appointments including no-shows, rescheduling and confirmations.
• Register new patients and maintain up-to-date records for existing patients.
• Provide information about medical insurance coverage and collect payments/ co-payments based on eligibility.
• Provide claim forms for reimbursement if needed.
• Facilitate daily cash collection, card payments and cheques in line with finance protocols.
• Maintain working knowledge of Hospital Information System, clinic timings, doctor roster and booking procedures.
• Handle patients, phone calls, cash and back-office tasks as per duty roster.
• Check emails daily and respond promptly.
• Ensure operations follow hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team efforts and maintain a clean, secure reception area.
• Participate in hospital training programs.
• Handle complaints professionally, safeguarding privacy and privacy regulations.
