Job summary

AMERICAN HOSPITAL Dubai is seeking an efficient Scheduler in the Patient Services team to handle telephonic appointment scheduling and patient inquiries. You will route callers to the most appropriate clinics, update patient information in the iConnect system, and confirm bookings via SMS or calls.

The role requires strong English and Arabic communication, basic computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service principles.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Knowledge of adequate medical terminology.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or prior exposure to a medical environment.
• Knowledge of operator or call centre procedures is preferable.
• Skills in verbal and written communication in both English and Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone calls politely and cordially.
• Maintains proper telephone etiquette.
• Facilitates patients to find the most appropriate physician for their questions and/or health-related complaints.
• Prioritises tasks, ensuring effective functioning of the area.
• Follows the chain of command in reporting incidents or concerns.
• Prioritises workload and completes correspondence on time.
• Transfers call to the Call Centre Nurses when appropriate.
• Schedules and books appointments into iConnect as per clinic guidelines.
• Confirms appointments through SMS and/or phone calls per policy.
• Maintains patient information in the iConnect system and up-to-date charts in clinics.
