Job summary

Sofitel Dubai Downtown is seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to assist the Pastry Chef with daily production, menu preparation, and ensuring products meet the required quality and presentation standards. You will contribute to a fast paced luxury kitchen and help maintain the pastry section’s organization and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie – Pastry or in a similar pastry/bakery role.
• Culinary or pastry qualification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert production.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Assist the Pastry Chef with daily production and menu preparation.
• Ensure all products are consistently prepared to the required quality and presentation standards.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate requirements to the Pastry Chef.
• Properly store ingredients and finished products according to food-safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, and portion control.
• Support and train Commis Chefs and junior pastry team members when required.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods and meet production deadlines.
• Assist with new pastry creations, seasonal menus, and special events.
