Job summary

Anantara Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara is seeking a Painter to maintain the hotel’s interior and exterior appearance, including painting, touch-up, surface prep, and related maintenance. You will help keep areas up to the hotel’s quality, safety, and aesthetic standards while minimizing guest disruption.

Responsibilities include painting guest rooms and public areas, preparing surfaces, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring proper use and storage of tools.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Painting, Building Maintenance, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Painter, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or facility management environment.
• Good knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.
• Ability to work with different types of paints, coatings, and painting tools.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair works.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality finishing standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights when required.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing imperfections before painting.
• Paint guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, offices, and other hotel facilities as required.
• Perform preventive painting and maintenance works according to the hotel schedule.
• Select and properly apply appropriate paints, coatings, and finishing materials.
• Ensure painting tools and equipment are properly used, cleaned, maintained, and stored.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized during and after completion of tasks.
• Follow all hotel health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Respond promptly to painting and maintenance requests from hotel departments.
• Report major surface damage or maintenance issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Minimize disruption to guests while carrying out work in guest and public areas.
• Support other Engineering and maintenance activities as assigned.
