Job summary

The Painter at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s interior and exterior appearance by carrying out painting, touch-up, surface preparation, and related maintenance works, ensuring all areas meet the hotel’s quality, safety, and aesthetic standards while minimizing disruption to guests and operations.

• Certificate or Diploma in Painting, Building Maintenance, Construction, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Painter, preferably in hotel or facility management.
• Solid knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing.
• Ability to work with various paints, coatings, and tools.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
• Strong health, safety, and environmental awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality finish.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting, repainting, touch-up, and decorative works throughout the hotel.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing imperfections.
• Paint guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, offices, and facilities.
• Perform preventive painting and maintenance according to the schedule.
• Select and apply appropriate paints, coatings, and finishing materials.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used, cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized during and after tasks.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Respond promptly to painting and maintenance requests from departments.
• Report major surface damage or issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Minimize disruption to guests while working in guest/public areas.
• Support other Engineering and maintenance activities as assigned.
