Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a proactive ESG & Sustainability professional to contribute to the bank's ESG agenda, developing the strategy and roadmap and monitoring implementation to ensure visibility of achievements.

The role involves coordinating with departments, supporting ESG data collection and reporting, and preparing sustainability communications for senior management and boards. A bachelor's degree and 0–2 years' ESG experience are required, with strong Arabic and English skills.

Job description

Job Purpose

Contribute to ESG & Sustainability in leading CBI’s ESG agenda, including the development of the ESG strategy and roadmap, the monitoring of the implementation of the ESG action plan and the development of an ESG communication strategy ensuring internal and external visibility of the Bank’s achievements.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• ESG Strategy and Roadmap Development & Implementation Contribute to the implementation of the Bank’s ESG strategy, priorities, and sustainability roadmap.
• Maintain and regularly update the ESG roadmap tracker, including initiative status, milestones, timelines, and responsible stakeholders.
• Assist in coordinating ESG initiatives and action plans with relevant departments across the Bank.
• Follow up with relevant departments on agreed ESG initiatives, deliverables, and action items, and highlight delays or issues to the Head of ESG & Sustainability.
• Support the monitoring of ESG performance against established objectives, metrics, and targets.
• ESG Reporting and Compliance Support the collection and consolidation of ESG data from relevant departments and follow up on the timely submission of required information.
• Support the administration and ongoing use of ESG reporting and data-management solutions.
• Assist in the preparation of the Bank’s Sustainability Report and other ESG-related disclosures by coordinating information and supporting documentation from relevant stakeholders.
• Help prepare simple summaries, tables and charts to support ESG performance reporting.
• Support the monitoring of applicable ESG and sustainability-related regulatory requirements and maintain the relevant regulatory tracker.
• Assist in preparing ESG performance updates, dashboards, presentations, and supporting materials for Senior Management, the ESG & Sustainability Committee, and the Board, as required.
• Support responses to ESG-related information requests, audits, assessments, and other internal or external reporting requirements.
• Communication, Awareness and Advocacy Support the coordination of ESG and sustainability communications in collaboration with the relevant departments.
• Assist in implementing ESG awareness and engagement initiatives to promote sustainability across the Bank.
• Coordinate with ESG & Sustainability Champions and other internal stakeholders on sustainability activities and awareness initiatives.
• Support the organization of ESG training, awareness sessions, employee engagement activities, and sustainability campaigns.
• Assist in preparing sustainability-related communication materials, presentations, and awareness content.
• Support the promotion of the Bank’s ESG initiatives and achievements through approved internal and external communication channels.

Accountability / Decision Making

The candidate is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks and for maintaining organized and up-to-date records of assigned ESG initiatives, data, action items, and reporting requirements. Routine matters are handled within established procedures, while matters requiring judgment, approval, or management decisions are escalated to the Head of ESG & Sustainability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.

Experience

0 to 2 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, banking operations, or an administrative/analytical role.

Good understanding of ESG and sustainability concepts, frameworks, standards, and trends Excellent Arabic and English communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills. Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively under guidance.
