VaporVM in Dubai is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with 3 years of hands-on experience focused on switching. You will design, configure, and maintain the LAN switching infrastructure and collaborate with senior engineers on upcoming upgrades.

The ideal candidate holds a CCNA certification, understands VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP/MSTP, EtherChannel, and basic routing. You will provide L1/L2 support, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

3 years of hands-on network engineering experience focused on switching.
CCNA certification mandatory.
Strong knowledge of VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP/MSTP, and EtherChannel.
Experience with Cisco Catalyst switches; exposure to HP/Aruba, Juniper is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, implement, and maintain LAN switching infrastructure across the organization.
Configure VLANs, trunking (802.1Q), STP/RSTP/MSTP, EtherChannel, and inter-VLAN routing.
Perform switch port configuration, security (port security, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection).
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve switching-related issues.
Troubleshoot Layer 2 issues including loops, broadcast storms, and connectivity failures.
Maintain accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams and configuration backups.
Perform firmware/software upgrades on switches and other network devices.
Collaborate with senior network engineers on network expansion and upgrade projects.
Ensure network security best practices are followed at the switching layer.
Provide L1/L2 support and elevate complex issues as needed.
Participate in on-call rotation for network support, as required.
