We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong MEP Manager to lead the complete MEP delivery of a major high-rise building project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning, design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, authority approvals and handover of all MEP systems, ensuring delivery in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programme, quality standards, HSE requirements and project budget.
The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and hands-on experience managing complex MEP works within high-rise construction environments.
Lead and manage all MEP activities from design development through construction, testing, commissioning and final handover.
Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, fire alarm, ELV, BMS, vertical transportation interfaces and other building services.
Review and coordinate MEP design, shop drawings, technical submittals, material approvals and method statements.
Ensure effective MEP coordination with architectural, structural and civil works, particularly within congested high-rise areas.
Lead BIM/MEP coordination and ensure timely resolution of clashes and interface issues.
Develop and monitor MEP execution strategies, construction methodologies and recovery plans.
Manage MEP subcontractors, specialist contractors, suppliers and consultants.
Monitor project progress against the approved programme and ensure timely completion of critical MEP activities.
Coordinate riser, shaft, plant room, ceiling, façade and service interface requirements with all disciplines.
Review technical specifications, IFC drawings, design changes and variation requirements.
Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable international standards and local authority requirements.
Lead inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
Coordinate with relevant authorities and utility providers for inspections, approvals and connections.
Monitor MEP procurement, long-lead equipment and material delivery to avoid project delays.
Review MEP quantities, progress measurements, subcontractor claims and variations in coordination with the commercial team.
Identify technical and construction risks and implement mitigation measures.
Ensure strict compliance with project QA/QC and HSE requirements.
Lead regular MEP coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
Prepare and review MEP progress reports, dashboards, look-ahead programmes and recovery plans.
Ensure proper preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, testing and commissioning records and handover documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to MEP engineers, supervisors and site teams.
The candidate must demonstrate strong understanding of the challenges associated with high-rise MEP construction, including:
High-rise vertical transportation and service distribution.
HVAC chilled-water and ventilation systems.
Electrical power distribution, MDB/SMDB systems and vertical busbar/riser systems.
Plumbing, drainage, water supply and domestic water booster systems.
Firefighting and fire alarm systems.
BMS and ELV system integration.
Plant rooms and MEP equipment rooms.
MEP risers, shafts and ceiling coordination.
Pressure zoning and water distribution at different building levels.
Temporary utilities and construction power/water requirements.
Interface coordination between MEP systems and façade, structure and architectural finishes.
Testing, commissioning and integrated system performance for high-rise developments.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; MEP/building services qualification preferred.
15+ years of overall MEP experience, preferably with major high-rise building projects.
Minimum 10+ years in an MEP Manager / Senior MEP Manager / MEP Project Manager capacity.
Proven experience managing MEP works for high-rise towers, luxury residential, commercial, hotel or mixed-use developments.
Strong UAE/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing large MEP teams and multiple subcontractors.
Strong knowledge of international MEP standards, specifications and local authority requirements.
Strong experience in MEP coordination, BIM coordination, testing & commissioning and project handover.
Excellent knowledge of project planning, cost control, procurement and subcontractor management.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Candidates with experience on 50+ storey high-rise towers, large residential/commercial developments or landmark UAE projects will be strongly preferred.
