Job summary

Confidential Careers in the United Arab Emirates seeks a skilled Mechanical Estimation professional to study tender specifications, drawings and equipment schedules, and to estimate project costs for mechanical systems in building projects.

The role involves reviewing documents, drafting cost breakdowns, collecting quotations, maintaining cost databases, and supporting the Estimation Manager to finalize BOQ with indirect costs and margins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical Estimation, preferably in MEP contracting.
• Good understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other Mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Review Tender Specifications, Drawings, Equipment Schedules to understand the Mechanical scope.
• Assist in preparing Mechanical scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and responsibility matrices.
• Request and compare supplier quotations for Mechanical materials, equipment, and systems.
• Maintain Mechanical cost database with prices, rates, and man-hours.
• Assist in quantity take-off and prepared quantities for Mechanical works with the Quantity Surveyor.
• Identify discrepancies and prepare clarifications for Tender Documents.
• Assist in preparing cost breakdowns for Mechanical materials, equipment, and labour.
• Assist in tender costing using Estimation Department templates and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with authority requirements, codes, and project regulations.
• Support Estimation Manager in reviewing scope, quantities, quotations and pricing.
• Assist in finalizing the Mechanical BOQ including indirect costs and margins.
