Materials Inspector role in Dubai focused on quality inspection, testing, and verification of construction materials for transportation infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify all construction materials delivered to site in compliance with RTA specifications and approved submittals
- Review material source approvals, delivery notes, batch certificates, and test reports prior to acceptance
- Carry out sampling and witness laboratory and field tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other civil materials
- Ensure materials used for roadworks, bridges, culverts, drainage, and utilities meet approved specifications and drawings
- Monitor material storage, handling, and protection to prevent contamination or damage
- Verify use of RTA-approved suppliers, manufacturers, and testing laboratories
- Coordinate with Material Engineer and Site Engineer on testing schedules and material approvals
- Inspect asphalt paving, concrete works, earthworks, and backfilling for correct materials and workmanship
- Review and submit Work Inspection Requests related to materials and civil works
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and material logs for QA QC and as-built documentation
- Identify non-conforming materials, issue NCRs and site observations, and follow up corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements during material handling and testing
- Monitor material quantities and usage to prevent wastage or deviation from specifications
- Support RTA inspections and audits with required documentation and site coordination
- Prepare daily reports on material inspections, testing status, and site activities
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant technical or engineering field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory materials testing and field inspection
- Experience on roads and bridges or transportation infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with RTA specifications, material standards, and QA QC procedures
- Strong documentation, reporting, and coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively in active site environments
