Position Overview

Materials Inspector role in Dubai focused on quality inspection, testing, and verification of construction materials for transportation infrastructure projects. This position ensures full compliance with RTA requirements, approved specifications, and contract documents across roads, bridges, drainage, and utilities works in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify all construction materials delivered to site in compliance with RTA specifications and approved submittals
• Review material source approvals, delivery notes, batch certificates, and test reports prior to acceptance
• Carry out sampling and witness laboratory and field tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other civil materials
• Ensure materials used for roadworks, bridges, culverts, drainage, and utilities meet approved specifications and drawings
• Monitor material storage, handling, and protection to prevent contamination or damage
• Verify use of RTA-approved suppliers, manufacturers, and testing laboratories
• Coordinate with Material Engineer and Site Engineer on testing schedules and material approvals
• Inspect asphalt paving, concrete works, earthworks, and backfilling for correct materials and workmanship
• Review and submit Work Inspection Requests related to materials and civil works
• Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and material logs for QA QC and as-built documentation
• Identify non-conforming materials, issue NCRs and site observations, and follow up corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements during material handling and testing
• Monitor material quantities and usage to prevent wastage or deviation from specifications
• Support RTA inspections and audits with required documentation and site coordination
• Prepare daily reports on material inspections, testing status, and site activities
