The Materials Engineer will provide technical control over the materials used throughout infrastructure construction, from initial submittal and source approval through delivery, testing, storage, incorporation, and final acceptance. The position requires close coordination with contractors, laboratories, subconsultants, inspectors, and project engineers to ensure material performance is verified before it affects permanent works. Strong oversight in this role will help prevent noncompliant materials, reduce construction defects, support reliable quality records, and protect the long-term durability of infrastructure assets.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geology Engineering, Materials Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is required on infrastructure projects. Applicants should have at least 5 years of relevant UAE or GCC experience involving roads, bridges, tunnels, or comparable major civil works. Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, material approvals, laboratory operations, and infrastructure quality requirements is essential. Candidates should be capable of reviewing technical submittals, certificates, laboratory results, specifications, and other supporting compliance documentation. Experience coordinating material testing laboratories and third-party testing organizations will be highly valuable. RTA approval will be considered an advantage. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic AutoCAD is required.
