Job summary

Parsons is seeking a seasoned Materials Engineer to oversee material control for a major infrastructure project in Dubai. The role requires monitoring, inspection, and documentation to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

You will review submittals, coordinate testing, and supervise the material workflow on site, leveraging your UAE/GCC experience and RTA approvals to ensure quality and safety. This is a senior on-site position in Dubai.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Civil/Geology Engineering or Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years in infrastructure projects with 5+ years in UAE/GCC on roads, bridges, or tunnels.
• RTA approval prior experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Review the Contractor's material submittals and obtain required approvals according to standards and project specs.
• Serves as focal point for scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site.
• Conducts inspections to ensure work aligns with contract specifications.
• Coordinates work of subconsultants for material testing.
• Maintains project files, material inspections, and daily diaries.
• Prepares daily reports and other documentation as required by the contract.
• Verifies only approved materials are used in the work.

Materials Engineer (Infrastructure - RTA Approved))

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Materials Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to involve in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all material of the project to ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications

What You'll Be Doing

• Review the Contractor's material submittals and obtain the required approvals according to the applicable standards and project specifications.
• Serves as the focal point for the scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site
• Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
• Coordinates work of subconsultants for material testing
• Maintains office files related to the project, material inspections and writes daily diaries.
• Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract
• Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work
• Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems on construction materials, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution
• Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.
• May provide technical guidance to lower-level
• Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
• Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
• Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts
• Observe, check and record works execution is in accordance with approved methods
• Check material delivered are as approved and properly stored

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• B.Sc. in Civil/ Geology Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years in infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC on roads, bridges, or tunnels.
• RTA previous approval is mandatory.
• Strong technical reporting, MS Office, basic AutoCAD, laboratory management, and stakeholder communication.
