Role Summary

Senior Material Engineer responsible for overseeing material selection, testing, and compliance across Parsons Corporation infrastructure projects. This position ensures that all construction materials meet required standards, improve durability, and support efficient project delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Review project requirements and determine material specifications for infrastructure works
• Recommend appropriate materials based on performance, environmental conditions, and cost
• Ensure all materials comply with ASTM, BS, ISO, and project standards
• Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for construction materials
• Conduct inspections and testing of concrete, asphalt, steel, soil, and aggregates
• Approve or reject materials based on test results and compliance criteria
• Monitor material quality during procurement, delivery, and installation
• Coordinate with procurement teams to evaluate suppliers and vendors
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Identify opportunities to optimize material usage and reduce waste
• Maintain records of approvals, test results, and compliance documentation
• Prepare reports on material performance and project compliance
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve material‑related challenges
• Investigate defects and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Support research into sustainable and innovative construction materials

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 12 years of experience in infrastructure and construction projects
