Job summary

HKA is seeking a skilled delay analyst to join its Abu Dhabi team, delivering planning, delay and project controls services across diverse construction and energy projects. You will work with experienced delay experts to evaluate project performance and prepare robust delay analyses for advisory and dispute resolution purposes.

The role involves preparing and reviewing delay analyses, analysing schedules and documentation, and supporting expert reports for arbitration and other proceedings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.
• Experience on major construction, infrastructure, engineering or energy projects.
• Knowledge of delay analysis methodologies such as Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis and As-Planned vs As-Built assessments.
• Strong scheduling and project controls knowledge.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in delivering planning, delay and project controls services across a diverse portfolio of construction, infrastructure, energy and engineering projects.

Working alongside experienced delay experts and consultants, you will support clients in understanding project performance, evaluating critical delay events and preparing robust delay analyses for both advisory and dispute resolution purposes.

Depending On Your Level Of Experience, Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing and reviewing delay analyses using recognised industry methodologies.
• Analysing project schedules, programme updates, progress records and project documentation.
• Assessing the causes, impact and responsibility for project delays and disruption.
• Supporting the preparation of expert reports for arbitration, litigation and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Assisting in the development and testing of expert opinions through detailed schedule and forensic analysis.
• Conducting programme reviews, schedule audits and project controls assessments.
• Managing workstreams and contributing to the successful delivery of client engagements.
• Building strong client relationships through the delivery of high-quality technical work and trusted advice.
• Supporting business development initiatives, including proposals, client meetings and industry events.
• Mentoring and developing junior team members while contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Skills And Experience

We are seeking motivated professionals with experience in planning, scheduling, project controls or delay analysis who are looking to further develop their careers within a leading global consultancy.

You Will Typically Have

• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Experience working on major construction, infrastructure, engineering or energy projects.
• Strong Primavera P6 expertise and experience managing or analysing project schedules.
• Experience undertaking delay analysis, forensic planning or project controls assignments.
• Knowledge of recognised delay analysis methodologies such as Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis and As-Planned vs As-Built assessments.
• A strong understanding of project delivery, critical path methodology and schedule management principles.
• Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
• Experience supporting arbitration, adjudication or litigation matters would be advantageous.
• Membership of a relevant professional body such as AACE, CIOB, ICE or equivalent is desirable.
