Senior construction role responsible for shaping Amazon's sourcing strategy for major real estate and operational development projects across the Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye. The role leads procurement across civil works, architectural packages, interior fit‑out, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, fire protection, and multiple tiers of the construction supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute regional sourcing strategies for construction categories across the Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye.
  • Manage procurement activity across civil works, architectural packages, interior fit‑out, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Assess opportunities across general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Protect continuity of supply and reduce commercial, operational, geographic, and supplier‑related risks.
  • Identify regional synergies, economies of scale, benchmarking opportunities, innovation, and waste‑reduction measures.
  • Improve Amazon's construction cost competitiveness through negotiation, specification standardization, value engineering, and supply‑chain optimization.
  • Lead supplier prequalification, due diligence, onboarding, tendering, proposal evaluation, commercial clarification, and award recommendations.
  • Manage several procurement packages and construction schemes simultaneously while meeting demanding project schedules.
  • Evaluate supplier technical capability, commercial strength, delivery capacity, safety performance, and regional coverage.
  • Negotiate and execute framework agreements, commercial terms, service schedules, and strategic supplier arrangements.
  • Own senior relationships with selected contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturing partners.
  • Work with Design and Construction teams to improve specifications and identify technically suitable alternatives.
  • Support supplier performance reviews in partnership with construction project teams.
  • Provide construction market intelligence, supplier insights, pricing benchmarks, and risk information to procurement leaders and stakeholders.
  • Analyze regional construction markets and develop procurement approaches suited to individual countries and business requirements.
  • Prepare high‑quality procurement papers, strategic recommendations, sourcing plans, and approval documents.
  • Anticipate objections to recommended sourcing strategies and present balanced commercial arguments to decision‑makers.
  • Influence senior leadership by clearly explaining cost, risk, schedule, sustainability, and supplier considerations.
  • Coordinate with Real Estate, Legal, Finance, Operations, and central procurement teams throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Serve as a key interface between project‑delivery teams and senior external supply‑chain stakeholders.
  • Support procurement initiatives aligned with Amazon's Climate Pledge and wider environmental commitments.
  • Identify and source innovative, sustainable, and cost‑effective construction products and services.
  • Establish measurable category goals and deliver incremental savings, process improvements, and operational value.
  • Automate and simplify procurement tools, reporting mechanisms, workflows, and approval processes.
  • Maintain accurate category plans, tender records, negotiation documents, supplier data, schedules, and performance reports.
  • Move between category strategy, sourcing execution, supplier management, and project coordination as business needs change.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, supply chain, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in construction procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, project management, or category management.
  • Strong understanding of construction trades including civil, architectural, fit‑out, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire‑protection works.
  • Experience working with general contractors, specialist subcontractors, suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Ability to lead complete procurement processes from market assessment and prequalification through contract award.
  • Commercial experience negotiating complex construction agreements and framework contracts.
  • Knowledge of construction cost structures, tender evaluation, value engineering, and supplier‑risk management.
  • Experience managing high‑value construction or real estate procurement packages is advantageous.
  • Strong program or project management capability with the ability to coordinate multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Proven ability to define and implement process improvements using operational data and performance metrics.
  • Experience within supply chain management and strategic supplier development.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLookUps.
  • SQL knowledge for data analysis and procurement reporting.
  • Ability to define program requirements and use data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills across operational, technical, legal, financial, and leadership teams.
  • Experience presenting sourcing recommendations and project results to senior leadership.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed business and procurement documents.
  • Strong commercial judgment, analytical capability, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.
