Role Context The Construction Manager will represent Amazon throughout the delivery of complex industrial construction projects and will serve as a primary interface between developers, general contractors, consultants, internal engineering teams, and operational stakeholders. The role combines construction engineering, project planning, contract management, facilities coordination, cost control, and technical review. Projects may range from targeted renovations and tenant improvements to large-scale facilities valued above $100 million. Strong execution in this role helps Amazon expand capacity, improve network infrastructure, control capital expenditure, maintain safety and quality standards, and bring operational facilities into service according to demanding schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage new construction, renovation, retrofit, expansion, and capacity improvement projects across the MEATR region.
• Oversee projects from early site development and design coordination through construction, commissioning, handover, and closeout.
• Support delivery of Fulfillment Centers, Sortation Centers, Delivery Stations, Quick Commerce sites, and associated auxiliary facilities.
• Manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining control of schedule, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Conduct detailed reviews of project budgets, programs, contractor proposals, and bid packages to identify discrepancies and commercial risks.
• Evaluate the impact of proposed schedule changes, cost movements, permitting constraints, and design modifications.
• Partner with internal technical and operational teams to define construction scopes for new-build and remodeling projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, design requirements, and project analyses for capacity expansions and facility improvements.
• Coordinate with developers, general contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and other external project stakeholders.
• Act as Amazon 's direct construction representative during project delivery and major contractor interactions.
• Negotiate construction contracts and proposed contract changes with developers and general contractors.
• Prepare supporting documentation and recommendations for formal commercial approvals.
• Provide overall site coordination, construction planning, scope clarification, and subcontractor interface management.
• Assess project performance through KPIs covering safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Review design packages and active construction works for conformance with current building specifications and Amazon standards.
• Examine proposed design standards and identify value engineering or design enhancement opportunities.
• Analyze external cost and time change requests and determine their validity, impact, and commercial consequences.
• Review internally requested scope changes and ensure approved modifications are incorporated efficiently and cost consciously.
• Coordinate turnover requirements and work with teams responsible for transitioning base building management.
• Ensure project closeout packages and turnover documentation are complete and properly controlled.
• Lead or support engagement with regulatory authorities and Authority Having Jurisdiction entities where project approvals require negotiation.
• Maintain clear, timely, and transparent communication across construction, engineering, operations, finance, and other project functions.
• Identify delivery risks early and develop practical mitigation strategies before they affect critical milestones.
• Contribute to improvements in Amazon construction processes, health and safety practices, sustainability performance, and project governance.
