Overview
Senior construction opportunity for a project delivery professional with experience in corporate real estate construction, tenant improvements, new builds, expansions, renovations, contractor management, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
This role supports Amazon's Global Real Estate and Facilities team by managing construction services across corporate facilities and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget, and in line with business requirements across multiple regional markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction services for corporate real estate projects, including tenant improvements, new builds, expansions, renovations, and workplace upgrades.
- Represent Global Real Estate and Facilities to internal customers and ensure space delivery meets business needs, operational expectations, and employee experience goals.
- Work closely with architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, landlords, internal stakeholders, and leadership teams to keep project decisions aligned with business priorities.
- Develop and implement project delivery strategies, define execution plans, and ensure the right resources are allocated to complete projects successfully.
- Build and maintain project schedules, track progress, identify delays, and coordinate actions that keep delivery on plan.
- Lead construction project meetings, progress reviews, stakeholder updates, and decision‑making discussions.
- Support project budgeting by reviewing cost plans, tracking spend, preparing forecasts, managing accruals, and monitoring financial performance.
- Review and manage change orders, contract modifications, payment applications, procurement requirements, and contracting methods.
- Guide construction activities including contractor selection, contract negotiation support, budget approvals, subcontractor coordination, and schedule alignment.
- Provide feedback on design guidelines, minimum specifications, basis of design, and building system requirements.
- Evaluate, approve, or reject project changes based on cost, quality, schedule, safety, compliance, and business impact.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure timely completion, cost discipline, quality standards, and compliance with organizational requirements.
- Identify and mitigate construction risks, contract risks, regulatory risks, safety concerns, and project delivery issues.
- Ensure projects meet applicable contracts, regulations, safety standards, technical requirements, and internal construction expectations.
- Hold landlords accountable to lease terms, including premises delivery timing, space condition, and agreed handover obligations.
- Track tenant improvement allowances and ensure required collections are completed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate project delivery from design stage through construction, closeout, and operational turnover.
- Travel to construction sites across Africa, the Middle East, Türkiye, Greece, Israel, Malta, and Cyprus as required.
Ideal Profile & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, owner’s project management representative, or similar commercial development and construction professional.
- Strong experience managing design and construction projects for corporate facilities, commercial properties, workplace projects, tenant improvements, expansions, or renovations.
- Practical knowledge of construction project management, contract administration, procurement, cost control, budgeting, scheduling, and change management.
- Experience coordinating architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, landlords, internal customers, and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, from project planning and budget alignment to site coordination and issue resolution.
- Strong understanding of contractor performance management, safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and construction quality standards.
- Experience leading project meetings, managing timelines, reviewing progress, and resolving delivery challenges.
- Highly competent with productivity and project software including Microsoft Office, MS Project, Dropbox, and SharePoint.
- Ability to travel to construction sites across Africa, Greece, Israel, Malta, Cyprus, the Middle East, and Türkiye.
- Experience in construction project management and contract management is preferred.
- Experience leading and managing internal or external teams is preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple projects, countries, contractors, and business priorities.
