Job summary

Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara in the United Arab Emirates is hiring a Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment. You will support smooth kitchen operations and F&B outlets by ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans.
• Ensure the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations.
• Collect and remove trash and recycling materials from designated areas.
• Operate dishwashing machines and ensure they function properly.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals; report shortages.
• Assist kitchen and service staff with setup and breakdown of buffets or banquets.
• Follow hotel safety and sanitation policies, including proper chemical handling.
• Sort and stack clean dishes; deliver them to proper storage areas.
• Handle all equipment carefully to avoid breakage or damage.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled (e.g., oven cleaning, grease traps).
