Job summary

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is seeking a Captain for the Food & Beverage team to ensure that their section of the restaurant runs smoothly and that guests are served according to the hotel’s exacting standards.

Based in the luxury property, the Captain will supervise opening and closing duties, support the assistant restaurant manager with reservations and events, and maintain impeccable cleanliness and setup of the dining area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the same role in a luxury hotel is preferred, resort experience will be a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Senior School qualification or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in the Russian language will be considered an added value.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise opening and closing duties for the restaurant section.
• Assist the assistant manager with reservations and special events.
• Check cleanliness and functioning of operating equipment and furniture.
• Assist in training wait staff and junior teammates.
• Ensure correct setup of the restaurant section and seating arrangements.
• Welcome guests, present menus, and recommend beverages to increase check averages.
• Take orders and ensure speedy service of all F&B items.
• Maintain proper cash handling and billing procedures as per policy.
• Be present in service hours and maintain high personal grooming standards.
• Resolve guest comments and complaints in line with management guidance.
