Job summary

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Rooms Controller to join the Front Office team. You will manage room inventory, ensure accurate status, and enable a seamless arrival and departure experience for guests.

Based in Abu Dhabi, you will coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Desk to maximize occupancy and revenue, while upholding the hotel’s standards of luxury hospitality and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in same role in luxury property is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Front Office operations and room inventory management.
• Proficiency in Opera PMS or other recognized hotel property management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign rooms to arriving guests based on availability and guest preferences.
• Oversee room blocking for groups, VIPs, and future bookings.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping to monitor room status and readiness.
• Review daily room inventory and out-of-order rooms to maximize availability.
• Collaborate with Front Desk during peak periods to ensure smooth allocation.
• Coach Front Desk colleagues to maintain service standards and procedures.
• Conduct onboarding and training for new colleagues.
• Handle guest requests, concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Manage room inventory to support occupancy and revenue, including overbooking when approved.
• Support Front Office in upselling and room upgrade opportunities.
