Job summary

AccorHotel in Ajman, United Arab Emirates seeks a hands-on Duty Engineer to ensure reliable operation, maintenance and repair of MEP systems across the hotel. You will lead the engineering team on shift, troubleshoot issues, schedule preventive maintenance and uphold safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire safety systems, and excellent English communication skills for guest and staff interactions.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire safety systems.
• Experience in preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Previous experience in luxury hospitality is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee daily operation of all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to engineering requests to minimize disruption.
• Troubleshoot and repair MEP issues quickly and effectively.
• Supervise engineering staff on shift and assign tasks.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Train and support the engineering team while enforcing hotel safety procedures.
