Job summary

Minor International in Dubai is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the hotel Engineering Department, ensuring safe, reliable operation of all building systems and facilities in line with UAE regulations.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, manage budgets and CAPEX, coordinate with authorities, and mentor a team of engineers and contractors to uphold five-star service and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 6–10 years of progressive engineering experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of hotel building systems and technical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory requirements including fire safety, environmental health and building codes.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Engineering department and maintenance programs.
• Ensure building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety) operate optimally.
• Monitor energy use and drive efficiency improvements.
• Maintain asset register and supervise PPM schedules.
• Prepare technical reports, budgets and CAPEX plans.
• Lead and develop the engineering team and ensure 24/7 coverage.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with authorities for inspections and certifications.
• Oversee renovations and hotel expansions; manage contractors and budgets.
• Review technical drawings and MEP plans.
