Job summary

Universal Group in Abu Dhabi seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance of major mechanical and electrical systems—HVAC, pumps, switchboards, filtration and safety systems—in a high-rise hotel or residential project.

Lead the engineering team, coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office, ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, DOE and ADOSH, and manage preventive maintenance programs and records.

Qualifications

• Minimum education in mechanical or electrical engineering (diploma or degree).
• Strong leadership and English communication abilities.
• Experience leading maintenance in hotels or high-rise projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD drawings and reading plans.
• Knowledge of local building and safety regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Regularly visit and inspect major mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Prepare a preventive maintenance program for HVAC, guest rooms, public areas, and utilities.
• Ensure maintenance per manufacturers' instructions and preventive programs.
• Respond to maintenance requests and coordinate with departments for timely repairs.
• Advise on energy cost reductions and new equipment to improve efficiency.
