Job summary

Abu Dhabi Manpower Supply is seeking a dedicated commissioning engineer to ensure that all commissioning tasks are executed to established work standards and procedures. The role encompasses reviewing design documents, participating in HAZOP/HAZID reviews, and leading a team of technicians through multi-discipline testing.

The incumbent will monitor DCS operations, manage alarms and interlocks, and ensure safe control of process variables such as temperature, pressure and flow.

Qualifications

• Experience in commissioning projects
• Knowledge of HSE standards
• Ability to lead technicians and coordinate multi-discipline teams

Responsibilities

• Review project design documents and ensure commissioning procedures align with standards
• Attend and input at P&ID, HAZOP and HAZID reviews
• Monitor and lead DCS operations including alarms, interlocks and overrides
• Oversee control of temperatures, pressures, levels and flow during commissioning
• Interface with other disciplines to ensure integrated testing and handover
• Prepare method statements and commissioning procedures as required
• Report progress, highlight risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Lead and supervise technicians and liaise with vendors as needed
• Ensure adequate commissioning spares and arrange testing schedules
• Comply with HSE standards throughout all commissioning activities

Job Purpose

Ensures that commissioning tasks assigned are properly implemented as per work standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project design documents
• Attend and provide input at P&ID, HAZOP and HAZID reviews
• Monitor and lead DCS operations: alarm trips, logic, interlocks, permissives and overrides
• Monitor and control temperatures, pressures, levels and flow of the operating plant
• Participate in HAZOP meetings with client and other disciplines
• Identify test equipment required at worksite and ensure it is in safe condition
• Assist in database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database
• Lead a team of technicians to undertake commissioning activities
• Interface with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities
• Prepare method statements, procedures and routines where required
• Report on work progress, flag potential problems or delays and recommend solutions
• Plan, monitor and assist in vendor activities
• Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for subsystem testing
• Perform inter-discipline checksIdentify design failures and lessons learned
