Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting seeks an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to oversee civil and structural engineering on a major gas processing facility project in the United Arab Emirates. The role requires designing infrastructure for large oil and gas installations and coordinating across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 15–25 years in oil & gas civil engineering, strong leadership, and proficiency in STAAD.Pro or SAP2000. Arabic language skills are preferred for this assignment.

Qualifications

• Proven involvement in large-scale gas processing or industrial plant projects.
• Arabic-speaking candidates preferred.
• Proficiency in structural analysis tools (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and relevant codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and review of civil engineering deliverables including foundations, structures, roads, drainage, and earthworks.
• Develop and approve civil engineering specifications, calculations, and design basis documents.
• Oversee geotechnical interpretation and foundation design for heavy equipment and process structures.
• Coordinate civil/structural interfaces with mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines.
• Review and approve vendor civil drawings and technical submittals.
• Manage and guide a team of civil engineers and designers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Monitor civil engineering progress against project milestones and resource plans.

The role requires a technically versatile professional with a solid background in the design of civil infrastructure for large oil and gas installations.

• Develop and approve civil engineering specifications, calculations, and design basis documents
• Oversee geotechnical interpretation and foundation design for heavy equipment and process structures
• Coordinate civil/structural interfaces with mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 15-25 years of experience in civil engineering for oil & gas or petrochemical facilities; specialist-level candidates also considered
• Proven involvement in large-scale gas processing or industrial plant projects
• Proficiency in structural analysis tools (STAAD. Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of ACI, AISC, BS, and other relevant civil/structural codes
• Experience with ADNOC projects is a significant advantage
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
