Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting seeks an accomplished Lead Piping Engineer to head piping engineering activities for a large-scale gas processing facility project. The candidate will oversee all aspects of piping design, engineering, and coordination across disciplines to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

The role requires primary responsibility for delivering piping layouts, isometrics, stress analysis, and vendor reviews, with leadership over a team of designers and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering required.
• 15–25 years piping engineering experience in oil & gas projects preferred or specialist level.
• Experience with large‑scale gas processing facility design and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of piping deliverables including layouts, isometrics, pipe stress analysis, and support designs.
• Develop and review piping specifications, material and valve selections.
• Supervise and guide a team of piping designers and engineers.
• Coordinate piping activities with process, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with piping codes (ASME B31.3) and client standards.
• Review and approve vendor piping drawings and documentation.
• Support 3D model reviews (MTO, clash detection) and ensure design integrity.
• Prepare and track piping engineering progress and man-hour utilization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
• Minimum 15-25 years of piping engineering experience in oil & gas projects; specialist-level candidates also considered
• Strong experience in large-scale gas processing facility design and execution
• Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software (CAESAR II or equivalent) and 3D modeling tools (PDMS, E3D, or equivalent)
• Thorough knowledge of piping codes and international standards (ASME, ANSI, API)
• Prior experience of ADNOC gas processing projects is a significant advantage
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferredProven team leadership and project coordination capabilities
