Job summary

Duncan & Ross is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our EPC project team in the Middle East. The role covers design, analysis, and technical support across FEED through commissioning, delivering civil and structural engineering solutions for onshore facilities.

Ideal candidates will have 12–15 years of oil & gas EPC experience, proficiency in STAAD Pro, and familiarity with international codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from a recognized university.
• 12–15 years of civil and structural experience in oil & gas EPC projects.
• Strong FEED and Detailed Engineering experience on large onshore developments.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro is mandatory.
• Experience with international codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, BS, Eurocodes, API).
• Experience working on Middle East EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil and structural design and analysis for onshore oil & gas facilities.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including calculations, specs, and datasheets.
• Design reinforced concrete and structural steel structures per project requirements.
• Perform foundation design and assessment for static and dynamic equipment.
• Review structural analysis models and calculations using STAAD Pro and other tools.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Architectural teams.
• Review vendor drawings and third-party documents for compliance.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, HAZOP support, and coordination meetings.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, client requirements, and applicable codes.
• Support technical bid evaluations and review contractor/vendor submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their calculations.

About the job SENIOR ENGINEER - CIVIL & STRUCTURE

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our EPC project team supporting major onshore oil & gas developments in the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering civil and structural engineering design, analysis, and technical support across all phases of the project lifecycle, from FEED through Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform civil and structural engineering design and analysis for onshore oil & gas facilities including pipe racks, equipment foundations, process structures, buildings, substations, control rooms, roads, drainage systems, and underground utilities.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including design calculations, specifications, reports, material take-offs (MTOs), datasheets, and technical requisitions.
• Design reinforced concrete and structural steel structures in accordance with project requirements and international design codes.
• Perform foundation design and assessment for static and dynamic equipment.
• Review structural analysis models and calculations using software such as STAAD Pro and other industry-standard engineering tools.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Architectural disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized engineering solutions.
• Review vendor drawings and third-party engineering documents for technical compliance.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, HAZOP support activities, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases, including responding to RFIs and site queries.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, company procedures, and applicable international codes and standards.
• Support technical bid evaluations and review contractor/vendor submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their calculations and engineering deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 12–15 years of civil and structural engineering experience in oil & gas EPC projects.
• Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of large-scale onshore oil & gas developments.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro is mandatory.
• Working knowledge of Foundation 3D, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Smart 3D (S3D/SP3D) is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete design, structural steel design, foundation engineering, site development, drainage systems, and underground utilities.
• Familiarity with international design codes and standards including ACI, AISC, ASCE, BS, Eurocodes, ASTM, and relevant API standards.
• Experience working on Middle East EPC projects is required.
• Previous experience on major brownfield and greenfield oil & gas developments is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
