Job summary

Sunset Hospitality Group is seeking a Junior Sommelier to join ISOLA in Abu Dhabi. You will support wine service, maintain the wine programme and guide guests through selections that complement the Italian menu.

The role requires 1–2 years of wine-service experience, with WSET Level 1 as a must and Level 2 preferred. Strong English communication and knowledge of international wines are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years wine-service experience in upscale restaurant.
• WSET Level 1 is required; Level 2 preferred.
• Good knowledge of Italian and international wines; fluent English and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Present wine lists and recommend wines based on guest preferences and menu.
• Serve and decant wines to professional standards.
• Support wine-cellar organization, stock counts and proper storage.
• Assist with receiving, labelling and rotating wine inventory.
• Maintain knowledge of wine list, vintages and availability.
• Support training and wine-pairing awareness within the team.
• Promote responsible service and contribute to beverage sales targets.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Sommelier to join the opening team at ISOLA. The Junior Sommelier will support wine service, maintain the wine programme and guide guests through selections that complement ISOLA's Italian menu.

Key Responsibilities

• Present wine lists and recommend wines based on guest preferences and menu choices.
• Serve and decant wines according to professional standards.
• Support wine-cellar organization, stock counts and correct storage conditions.
• Assist with receiving, labelling and rotating wine inventory.
• Maintain accurate knowledge of the wine list, vintages and availability.
• Support team training and wine-pairing awareness.
• Promote responsible service and support beverage sales targets.

Ideal Candidate

• At least 1-2 years of wine-service experience in an upscale restaurant.
• WSET Level 1 is required; WSET Level 2 is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of Italian and international wines.
• Confident communication, presentation and sales skills.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in an additional language is a strong advantage.
