Sunset Hospitality Group, the parent company behind ISOLA Abu Dhabi, seeks an experienced Sous Chef for the opening team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Italian cuisine and proven kitchen leadership to support the Head Chef in delivering authentic dishes.

You will manage daily kitchen operations, lead service, and ensure quality, cost control, and high standards while training the culinary team and maintaining hygiene. UAE GCC experience is advantageous.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in an established restaurant.
• Thorough knowledge of Italian ingredients and techniques.
• Experience leading kitchen teams through busy services.
• Understanding of food costing, inventory, and waste management.
• UAE/GCC restaurant experience is an advantage.

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Lead kitchen service and coordinate sections.
• Ensure recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
• Supervise, train and develop the culinary team.

• Maintain food safety and kitchen cleanliness.
• Lead operations in the Head Chef’s absence.

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening team at ISOLA Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Italian restaurants, proven kitchen leadership experience and the ability to support the Head Chef in delivering authentic Italian cuisine, consistent quality and efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and culinary standards.
• Lead kitchen service, coordinating sections to ensure timely and consistent dish execution.
• Ensure all dishes follow approved recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Supervise, train and develop the culinary team.
• Assist with menu development, recipe standardisation and food tastings.
• Manage ordering, inventory, stock rotation and waste control in line with food cost targets.
• Support staff scheduling and allocate duties according to operational requirements.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Lead kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Support pre-opening kitchen setup, operating procedures and team training.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef in an established restaurant.
• Thorough knowledge of Italian ingredients and techniques, including pasta, risotto, sauces, and meat and seafood preparation.
• Experience leading kitchen teams through busy restaurant services.
• Sound understanding of food costing, purchasing, inventory and waste management.
• Strong leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• UAE or GCC restaurant experience is an advantage.
