Rotana in Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate Commis I to join our dynamic kitchen team. You will support daily food preparation, help maintain hygiene standards, and assist chefs across sections to deliver high-quality dishes.

The ideal candidate has apprenticeship or formal culinary training, good English communication, and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced, multicultural hotel environment, while contributing to cost control and consistent presentation.

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen apprenticeship or formal culinary training.
• Previous experience in reputable hotels, restaurants, or other quality culinary establishments.
• Strong culinary skills with proven knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation techniques.
• Good English communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen operations.

Responsabilités

• Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Prepare dishes according to the menu specifications and instructions provided by the Chef de Partie.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and control food stock, wastage, and food costs within the assigned section.
• Prepare daily mise en place and assist with food production across different sections of the main kitchen and satellite kitchens.
• Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate supervisors to ensure the timely completion of daily tasks.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation while staying updated on new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations, cleanliness, efficient resource utilization, and effective cost control.
