Job summary

Swissotel Al Murooj in Dubai is seeking a professional cook focused on high standards of food preparation, plating, and presentation. The role emphasizes HACCP compliance, station-based duties, and a strong team collaboration in a fast-paced luxury hotel kitchen.

You will work closely with the chef de partie and senior chefs to ensure mise en place, timing, and quality across all service periods, while upholding sanitation and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• College Graduate or equivalent education from an accredited culinary institute.
• Minimum one year of professional kitchen experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality.
• Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation, plating and presentation standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP protocols and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict adherence to procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Planning & organizing: requisitions for the next day in coordination with the chef de partie or senior chef on duty.
• Operations: follow instructions, work with senior chefs, prepare mise en place, and maintain quality and presentation standards.
• Administration: attend kitchen meetings, sign for tools/uniforms, ensure safety and accident prevention, maintain logs and hygiene.
• Set up stations properly and ensure food is prepared according to designated recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, follow FIFO and waste minimization practices.
• Communicate issues or problems to sous/chef de cuisine promptly, and support cross-training as needed.
