Job summary

Jumeirah, a global luxury hospitality brand, invites applications for a Junior Baker at Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dubai. You will assist in preparing dough, weighing ingredients, and producing a range of baked goods to established recipes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing dough for various baked goods, following recipes and portioning ingredients accurately to maintain consistency.
• Measure and weigh ingredients, mix dough, and prepare batters according to recipes, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to quality standards.
• Assist in shaping dough, forming loaves, molding pastries, and assembling baked goods, following established techniques and specifications.
• Conduct visual inspections of baked products for texture, color, and consistency, ensuring they meet quality standards before packaging or serving.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the bakery area, including work surfaces, equipment, utensils, and storage areas, following food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Support the Head Baker in menu development initiatives, suggesting new recipes, flavor combinations, and product innovations to enhance the bakery offerings.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Completion of a culinary arts program or vocational training in baking and pastry arts
• Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Good understanding of hygiene, health, and safety standards, with adaptability to diverse cultures and team environments.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a bakery or kitchen environment, preferably with a focus on baking.
