Job summary

TLM Logistics, the logistics and freight forwarding arm of the TLM Group, is seeking a Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting in a fast-paced Dubai environment.

You will handle transaction recording, reconciliations, VAT compliance and financial reporting within the Finance & Accounts team.

Responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Prepare and verify debit and credit entries and ensure postings to correct accounts.
• Assist with bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Verify invoices, payment documents and supporting documentation.
• Assist in tracking customer collections and supplier payments.
• Support VAT-related records and documentation per UAE VAT rules.
• Assist with month-end closing and basic financial reports.
• Maintain filing of accounting documents and records.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding invoices and supporting documents.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate to Senior Accountant/Finance Manager.
• Assist with audits and provide required financial documents.
• Perform other finance tasks as needed.

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to support the Finance Accounts team with day-to-day accounting activities transaction recording reconciliations documentation and financial reporting The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of debit and credit entries general accounting principles and UAE VAT with strong attention to detail and accuracy

strong Key Responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions including sales purchases receipts payments and journal entries
• Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Prepare and verify debit and credit entries and ensure transactions are posted to the correct accounts
• Assist with bank supplier customer and ledger reconciliations
• Verify invoices payment documents receipts and supporting documentation
• Assist in tracking customer collections and supplier payments
• Support preparation of VAT-related records and documentation in compliance with UAE VAT regulations
• Assist with month-end closing activities and preparation of basic financial reports
• Maintain accurate filing of accounting documents and financial records
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding invoices expenses payments and supporting documents
• Identify discrepancies in accounting entries and elevate them to the Senior Accountant Finance Manager
• Assist with audits and provide required financial documents when needed
• Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks assigned by management

strong Key Skills Competencies

• Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Strong knowledge of Debit Credit entries
• Basic understanding of UAE VAT and accounting practices
• Good knowledge of MS Excel including basic formulas and data handling
• Experience with ERP accounting software is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Good analytical and reconciliation skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Good communication and coordination skills

strong Qualifications Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance Commerce or a related field
• 1 3 years of accounting experience preferably within logistics freight forwarding trading distribution or a similar industry
• Candidates with UAE accounting experience will be preferred
• Knowledge of logistics-related accounting transactions will be an added advantage
• The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to develop their accounting career within a fast-paced logistics environment. They should be comfortable working with financial data, checking transaction accuracy, following up on documentation, and supporting the wider Finance & Accounts team.
