Job summary

Manpower Middle East is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our client’s finance team in the UAE. You will assist with day-to-day accounting, manage payables and receivables, and support month-end activities.

You will work with ERP systems, perform reconciliations, and help with UAE VAT compliance and audits, while developing strong mathematical and analytical skills. This role offers exposure to IFRS basics and intercompany transactions, with a path to grow toward a senior

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on general accounting experience in GCC/UAE.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with ERP software (Tally/Zoho/QuickBooks/SAP/Oracle) and strong Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance and bank reconciliations.
• Record daily transactions in the ERP system and file documents.
• Support month-end closing and variance analysis.
• Assist UAE VAT returns and audit preparation.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our client’s finance team. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, manage accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and support the senior finance team with month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, verify payments, prepare customer statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• General Ledger & Reconciliations: Assist in maintaining the general ledger, perform routine bank reconciliations, and verify intercompany transactions.
• Data Entry & Documentation: Record daily financial transactions into the ERP system accurately, ensuring proper filing of invoices, receipts, and vouchers.
• Month-End Support: Support senior accountants during month-end closing procedures, including gathering data for accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
• Tax & Compliance Support: Assist with compiling basic financial documentation required for UAE VAT returns and statutory audit preparation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on general accounting experience within the GCC/UAE.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Software Skills: Hands-on experience with accounting ERP software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of IFRS standards, double-entry bookkeeping, and UAE VAT concepts.
• Soft Skills: Strong numerical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and good verbal and written communication skills in English.
