Job summary

Zahr Freighters in Dubai is seeking an experienced Accountant to handle daily transactions, AP/AR, invoicing, VAT, and financial reporting within our freight operations. You will maintain ledgers, prepare monthly statements, and support audits while ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in accounting, strong Excel, familiarity with Tally/QuickBooks/Zoho, and a detail-oriented, deadline-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Experience as an Accountant is preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or transportation is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT and tax requirements is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar systems is an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple accounting responsibilities.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate daily accounting transactions
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Prepare and verify invoices receipts payment vouchers and journal entries
• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting financial documentation
• Perform regular bank supplier and customer account reconciliations
• Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with payment follow-ups
• Verify freight-related invoices expenses and supporting documents
• Assist with shipment transportation and logistics-related accounting records
• Prepare monthly financial statements account schedules and management reports
• Maintain accurate records of income expenses payments and collections
• Assist with UAE VAT calculations documentation and filing requirements
• Coordinate with operations and logistics teams regarding billing and financial information
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and assist with corrective entriesSupport internal and external audit requirements by providing necessary documents
• Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
• Ensure accounting activities follow company policies and applicable financial regulations
• Assist management with financial analysis and other accounting tasks when required
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and business information

Requirements
