Job summary

GSS Group is seeking an IT Support professional to help install, configure, and monitor applications, systems and databases in a federal/government banking environment. The role requires immediate availability and 0–2 years of Data Centre/IT Support experience, with fluent Arabic and a relevant bachelor’s degree.

The position is based in Abu Dhabi and involves on-site responsibilities, daily backups, incident tracking, and cross-team Level-1 support with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Computer Engineering.
• 0–2 years' experience in a Data Centre/IT Support role.
• Fluent Arabic (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily system monitoring of hardware, servers and key processes; review uptime and backups.
• Provide Level-1 IT support across teams and entities; investigate and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor IT systems, datacenter components, and performance; respond to alerts.

Contract Duration: 6 months (renewable/extendable based on project need)

Job Purpose

Support the installation, configuration and monitoring of all IT applications, systems and databases within a federal/government banking environment.

Mandatory Requirements

• Fluent Arabic speaker (spoken and written)
• Available to join immediately (max 1 week)
• Prior hands-on experience working with a federal or government entity/client in the UAE (banks, government departments, LFIs, or similar regulated bodies)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Computer Engineering
• 0-2 years' experience in a similar Data Centre/IT Support role

Core Responsibilities

• Perform daily system monitoring - verify hardware, server resources, systems and key process integrity; review uptime; confirm completion of scheduled jobs (backups, DR replication)
• Perform daily backup operations - ensure file systems and data are backed up correctly, recovery media created, media recycled
• Provide Level-1 support across teams and entities - investigate and troubleshoot issues
• Monitor performance and capacity of IT systems, applications, and datacenter components
• Conduct core banking end-of-day activities and execute relevant reports
• Respond to IT, datacenter, and DB alerts and hardware malfunctions
• Track, document, and compile incident reports

Technical Competencies

• Security equipment: biometric access, CCTV compliance
