This role coordinates technical resources, maintenance priorities and equipment support across routine, breakdown and shutdown work. Effective execution will reduce unplanned downtime, address system obsolescence and improve long-term control-system availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support operations and maintenance teams during equipment testing and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in routine equipment surveillance and plant start-up activities.
  • Coordinate instrumentation work with mechanical, electrical and operations personnel.
  • Provide field expertise during critical maintenance and resolve faults with minimal downtime.
  • Plan daily preventive, corrective, breakdown and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Assess workload, work-order backlogs and scheduled maintenance commitments.
  • Determine workforce requirements and allocate personnel according to job priorities.
  • Coordinate with relevant sections to complete approved maintenance plans.
  • Arrange tools, spare parts, consumables and other resources needed for execution.
  • Monitor material availability, quality and quantities to prevent maintenance delays.
  • Investigate instrument and control equipment failures through structured root cause analysis.
  • Examine non-scheduled shutdown events and recommend lasting corrective measures.
  • Develop actions that improve equipment reliability, availability and operational performance.
  • Identify forthcoming major maintenance, system upgrades and equipment obsolescence risks.
  • Contribute maintenance forecasts to the division 's five-year rolling business plans.
  • Provide technical input for the development, implementation and commissioning of new projects.
  • Review instrumentation and control specifications for compliance, performance and cost efficiency.
  • Confirm that project requirements follow applicable standards and accepted engineering practices.
  • Define technical requirements for equipment, materials and contracted services.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations and supplier assessments.
  • Inspect received materials to verify quality and specification compliance.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure assigned work meets required technical standards.
  • Supervise activities within the assigned maintenance area and coordinate team priorities.
  • Develop assigned employees through technical coaching and practical guidance.
  • Contribute to departmental budgets and investigate significant cost variances.
  • Implement approved maintenance policies, procedures, systems and ISO-aligned controls.
  • Introduce tools and working methods that improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable HSE, sustainability and legal requirements.
  • Provide technical information for management reports and performance reviews.
Ideal Profile

Candidates must hold a Bachelor 's Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics or an equivalent professional qualification. A minimum of six years of instrument and control engineering and maintenance experience within a large industrial organization is required, preferably in the oil and gas sector. The position requires practical knowledge of plant instrumentation, control-system troubleshooting, maintenance scheduling and equipment reliability. Applicants should be capable of coordinating multidisciplinary teams, evaluating technical materials and supporting commissioning work. Relevant professional certification should be held where applicable. The role is mainly performed in an air-conditioned environment, with occasional site exposure to heat, humidity and dust.
