Position Overview
AECOM Middle East is seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join its Water and Infrastructure supervision team for Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects under Dubai Municipality. The role focuses on ensuring quality compliance, technical accuracy, and safety in mechanical and electrical works across wastewater infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections for STP mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, blowers, valves, HVAC, cabling, and instrumentation.
- Ensure all installations meet approved drawings, specifications, and Dubai Municipality / DEWA standards.
- Monitor equipment installation, alignment, and testing activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to resolve technical and construction issues.
- Prepare daily inspection and progress reports covering manpower, materials, and on-site activities.
- Identify and report non-conformances or deviations from approved plans.
- Support FAT/SAT and commissioning of major mechanical systems.
- Verify contractor submittals, as-built documentation, and compliance with authority requirements.Assist in reviewing RFIs, inspection requests, and technical submittals.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, material tests, and system performance results.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Diploma holders with 10 years of relevant experience will be considered).
- Minimum 7 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in STP or wastewater treatment projects.
- Strong understanding of pumping systems, piping networks, HVAC, and control systems.
- Familiarity with authority regulations including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other UAE standards.
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous UAE or Middle East project experience preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., PE, PMP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
