Position Overview: AECOM is hiring an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Inspector to support stormwater drainage systems, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure projects in Dubai. This role focuses on day-to-day inspection and supervision of MEP installation works to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and local authority regulations. The position plays a critical role in maintaining construction quality, safety, and operational readiness across complex infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps, motors, control panels, cabling, piping, valves, and related systems.
• Verify that all installations are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
• Monitor and record installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of pumping station mechanical and electrical systems.
• Inspect cable routing, containment systems, termination, earthing, and control wiring in line with applicable standards and codes.
• Supervise installation of mechanical piping networks, valves, fittings, and support systems for stormwater infrastructure.
• Ensure all electrical and mechanical materials and equipment are approved, correctly stored, and properly handled on site.
• Witness and document testing and commissioning activities including insulation resistance, continuity, performance, and functional tests.
• Monitor HVAC, lighting, power, control, and instrumentation works within pumping stations and utility structures.
• Verify as-built information, coordinate contractor redline updates, and ensure accuracy of final documentation.
• Ensure QA and QC procedures, inspection requests, and ITPs are implemented and recorded correctly.
• Assist senior engineers and the resident engineer in issuing site observations, NCRs, and verifying corrective actions.
• Check calibration certificates and testing instruments used by contractors for compliance.
• Monitor HSE practices during all electrical and mechanical activities and report safety concerns.
• Record daily manpower, equipment usage, and material deliveries related to MEP works.
• Participate in coordination meetings and liaise with other disciplines to resolve interface issues.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in inspection and supervision of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater, drainage, or pumping station projects.
• Strong experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, valves, control panels, switchgear, and mechanical systems.
• Prior UAE experience, particularly within Dubai, working under RTA and Dubai Municipality standards.
• Familiarity with microtunneling interface works and related pumping station systems is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of QA and QC procedures, inspection checklists, and testing protocols.
