Job summary

Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) in Abu Dhabi seeks an Infrastructure Technical Coordinator to manage technical submissions, design docs, and authority approvals for major infrastructure projects. The role requires navigating Abu Dhabi authority processes and coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

You will review IFC and shop drawings, resolve design clashes, maintain records, and support project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure contracting projects within Abu Dhabi.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi authorities' requirements and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and engineering documentation.
• Review IFC drawings and shop drawings to identify design discrepancies and constructability issues.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely review and approval of technical documents.
• Liaise with Abu Dhabi authorities to obtain required technical approvals and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor the status of technical submissions and authority approvals to support project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate design changes and communicate approved revisions to project teams.
• Ensure all engineering documentation complies with project specifications and quality standards.
• Support project teams in resolving technical queries and coordinating engineering solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of technical submissions, approvals, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Technical Coordinator to join our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating technical submissions, design documentation, authority approvals, and engineering activities to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Abu Dhabi infrastructure contracting projects and a strong understanding of local authority requirements and approval processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and engineering documentation.
• Review Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and shop drawings to identify design discrepancies, technical issues, and constructability concerns.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure timely review and approval of technical documents.
• Liaise with Abu Dhabi authorities to obtain required technical approvals and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Monitor the status of technical submissions and authority approvals to support project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate design changes and ensure all approved revisions are communicated to project teams.
• Ensure all engineering documentation complies with project specifications, contractual requirements, and quality standards.
• Support project teams in resolving technical queries and coordinating engineering solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of technical submissions, approvals, and project documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure contracting projects within Abu Dhabi.
• Experience working with leading infrastructure contractors in the UAE is highly preferred.
• Required Skills & Experience
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi authorities' requirements, submission procedures, and approval processes, including DMT, ADQCC, ADM, ITC, ADDC, TAQA, e& (Etisalat), du, and other relevant authorities.
• Proven experience coordinating technical submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and authority approvals.
• Ability to review IFC drawings and shop drawings, identify design clashes, and coordinate technical resolutions.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure disciplines, including:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Civil 3D is an advantage.
• Excellent technical coordination and document management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight project deadlines.
• Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
