Job summary

American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Medical Coder to ensure accurate diagnosis and procedure coding following DHA e-claims guidelines for hospital claims including self-pay. The role abstracts patient demographics and clinical data for reporting and supports the Revenue Cycle Management team in coding and billing processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (medical preferred) with CCS or CPC credentials, knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, and EMR systems, and strong English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field, medical preferred
• CCS accreditation by AHIMA or CPC by AAPC
• Experience in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 coding and UAE claim handling

Responsibilities

• Encodes diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9-CM/ICD-10.
• Creates abstracts of demographics and medical information for coding systems.
• Reviews statements for prescribed diagnostics, pharmacy items, and procedures in EMR/claims.
• Assigns CPT-4 codes for outpatient billing and approvals.
• Ensures documentation supports coding to the highest specificity.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to privacy requirements.
