Job summary

FIVE Hotels and Resorts in Dubai seeks an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair HVAC/refrigeration systems across luxury properties, ensuring guest comfort and system reliability.

The role requires 2–3 years’ experience, HVAC certification, and proactive, detail-oriented performance with a hands-on attitude in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certification or equivalent in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as HVAC Technician or similar role in a Luxury Hotel.
• Valid HVAC/Refrigeration trade certification or equivalent per local authorities; additional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform meticulous inspection, preventive maintenance, servicing and repairs of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Test, diagnose, troubleshoot and calibrate HVAC equipment in compliance with local regulations and FIVE safety standards.
• Respond quickly to HVAC breakdowns and emergencies to minimize disruption and maintain comfort.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow and control-system faults with precision.
• Maintain AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, ventilation and related HVAC equipment.
• Monitor and optimise temperature, humidity and air quality across guest areas and back-of-house.
• Support Building Management System (BMS) and HVAC control systems for reliable performance.
• Conduct safety checks to mitigate hazards and safeguard guests and property.
• Perform refrigerant checks, leak detection, pressure testing, filter replacement and coil cleaning.
• Contribute to energy-efficient HVAC solutions and sustainable practices.

Compensation

What We’re Looking For

• A Diploma, Certification or equivalent Qualificationin HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field ispreferred.
  
• A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or in a similarrole within a Luxury Hotel is preferred.
  
• Valid HVAC / Refrigeration Trade Certification or equivalent qualification asmandated by Local Authorities, with a preference for additional technicalcertifications.
  
• Previous experience in hotel HVAC systems, air-conditioning equipment,refrigeration systems, chilled water systems, AHUs, FCUs, and advancedtroubleshooting techniques will be advantageous.
  
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC equipment, ventilation systems, pumps,compressors, cooling towers, chillers, BMS controls, and temperature controlsystems tailored to Hospitality Environments.
  
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures,ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently and reliably.
  
• A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensures everyaspect of the Operation is perfectly curated.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs Meticulous inspection, preventivemaintenance, servicing, and repairs across all HVAC and refrigeration systems,ensuring Uninterrupted ‘FIVE-Styled’ Guest experiences.
  
• Conducts Comprehensive testing, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and calibrationof HVAC equipment while maintaining Strict Compliance with local regulations,international standards, and FIVE’s safety requirements.
  
• Responds Rapidly and Effectively to HVAC breakdowns and emergencies,minimising disruption and maintaining comfortable environmental conditionsthroughout all Guest and Operational Areas.
  
• Identifies and Resolves mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow,temperature, and control-system faults with Precision and Efficiency,guaranteeing Flawless Operational Continuity across Front- and Back-of-House.
  
• Inspects, services, and maintains AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers,pumps, compressors, ventilation fans, exhaust systems, and associated HVACequipment.
  
• Monitors and maintains optimal temperature, humidity, airflow, and indoor airquality across guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens, back-of-houseareas, and other operational spaces.
  
• Supports the operation and optimisation of the Building Management System(BMS) and HVAC control systems, ensuring accurate monitoring and reliableperformance.
  
• Conducts Rigorous safety checks to Detect and Eliminate potential HVAC,refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical hazards, safeguarding Guests,‘FIVERs,’ and property.
  
• Performs refrigerant checks, leak detection, pressure testing, filterreplacement, coil cleaning, lubrication, and other routine HVAC servicing asrequired.
  
• Supports Energy-Efficient HVAC solutions and sustainable practices that alignwith FIVE’s Commitment to Innovation and Environmental Responsibility.
  
• Collaborates closely with the Engineering Team on renovation, refurbishment,and expansion projects, ensuring HVAC installations and modifications areexecuted to the required standards.
  
• Maintains curated records of inspections, preventive maintenance, breakdowns,repairs, equipment readings, and compliance documentation to Support audits anduphold FIVE’s industry-leading reputation.
  
• Provides technical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to junior ‘FIVERs,’fostering a Culture of Excellence, Teamwork, and Continuous Learning within theEngineering Department.
