Job Description – IT & ICT Solutions Engineer

Position: IT & ICT Solutions Engineer

Salary: AED 4,000 – AED 5,000 per month

About the Role

SOS Computer Technology LLC is looking for an IT & ICT Solutions Engineer to support the company's group companies, System Integration projects, presales activities, and AMC customer sites.

The ideal candidate should have a strong combination of IT/ICT technical knowledge, system integration experience, troubleshooting skills, and presales capability. The role will involve working with customers, vendors, internal teams, and project teams to deliver effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities1. IT & ICT Support – Group Companies

• Provide day-to-day IT and ICT technical support to SOS group companies.
• Troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers, network connectivity, Wi-Fi and related IT infrastructure.
• Support LAN/WAN, switches, routers, access points, structured cabling and basic network security.
• Configure and maintain IT equipment and user devices.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers and technology vendors when required.
• Maintain IT asset records and documentation.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support.

2. Presales & System Integration

• Understand customer requirements and develop suitable IT/ICT solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, equipment selections and solution designs.
• Assist the sales team with technical presentations and customer meetings.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare site survey reports.
• Prepare network diagrams, system architecture and technical documentation.
• Select appropriate products, brands and technologies based on project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from distributors and vendors.
• Support preparation of commercial and technical tender submissions.
• Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities where required.

3. AMC & Customer Site Support

• Provide technical support for AMC customers and contracted sites.
• Attend preventive and corrective maintenance visits.
• Troubleshoot IT, ICT and network-related issues.
• Perform health checks and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain service reports, maintenance records and issue logs.
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams to close technical issues within agreed timelines.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades, replacements and additional solutions at AMC sites.

4. Project Support & Implementation

• Assist project teams with installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of IT/ICT systems.
• Coordinate with site teams, consultants, main contractors and vendors.
• Support system integration and interoperability between different technologies.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting during project implementation.
• Prepare as-built documentation and handover documents where required.
• Ensure installations comply with approved technical specifications and project requirements.

Required Technical Skills

The candidate should have working knowledge of:

• LAN/WAN and TCP/IP networking
• Managed and unmanaged network switches
• Routers and firewalls
• Wi-Fi and wireless networking
• Structured cabling and network infrastructure
• Servers and basic virtualization concepts
• Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
• IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP and DNS
• Network troubleshooting and diagnostics
• CCTV, Access Control and other ELV systems – advantage
• AV and Smart Classroom solutions – advantage
• Basic cybersecurity and network security concepts
• IT asset management and documentation

Presales Skills

• Preparation of BOQ and technical specifications
• Product selection and comparison
• Preparation of technical compliance sheets
• Vendor/distributor coordination
• Preparation of technical proposals
• Site surveys and technical assessments
• Basic network/system design
• Understanding of tender requirements
• Customer presentations and technical discussions
• Ability to recommend cost-effective technical solutions

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's/Diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Networking or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in IT, ICT, System Integration or ELV/ICT projects.
• UAE experience is preferred.
• UAE driving licence is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, Microsoft, Fortinet, Huawei, Cisco, Aruba or equivalent will be an advantage.

Reporting

The IT & ICT Solutions Engineer will report to the Management / Head of IT & ICT / Project & Presales Management, as applicable.

Skills

Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking and ICT solutions

Good understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS and Wi-Fi

Experience with Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Huawei, Fortinet, TP-Link or similar networking products

Ability to design and configure network solutions

Knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points and network security

Strong IT troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Experience in system integration and ELV/ICT projects

Ability to conduct site surveys and technical assessments

Strong presales and solution design skills

Ability to prepare BOQs, technical proposals, compliance sheets and quotations

Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions

Good knowledge of IT hardware, servers, PCs, laptops, printers and peripherals

Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server and virtualization

Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, AV and Smart Classroom solutions will be an advantage

Experience handling AMC sites, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance

Ability to prepare network diagrams, system architecture and technical documentation

Good vendor/distributor coordination and product sourcing skills

Ability to support tenders and technical submissions

Good customer-facing and presentation skills

Strong written and verbal English communication

Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments

UAE driving licence preferred

Willingness to travel to customer and AMC sites across UAE

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, Microsoft, Fortinet, Huawei, HPE/Aruba or equivalent will be an advantage.
