Job summary

ALEC Technologies in the UAE is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer to lead ICT infrastructure design across landmark projects. You will review designs, coordinate with consultants and clients, and ensure integration with ELV, BMS, AV, and security systems.

Expertise in LAN/WAN, data centre, Wi‑Fi, IP addressing, and multi‑discipline coordination is required. The role demands leadership of technical teams, FAT/SAT, and meticulous documentation through handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electronics/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or equivalent with demonstrable ICT construction engineering experience.
• 7+ years' ICT construction engineering, testing and commissioning.
• CCNP/CCIE, PMP, RCDD or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve designs, calculations, BOQs, submittals and shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance to specifications, design and Employer Requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients and OEMs for technical alignment.
• Design LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi and data centre infrastructure and IP addressing scheme.
• Monitor progress, quality, risks and schedules and support handover.

Your Role

• Review and Approval of designs, calculations, BOQs, submittals and shop drawings.
• Ensure Compliance to specifications, design and Employer Requirements.
• Manage technical coordination with consultants, clients and OEMs.
• Ensure integration with ELV, BMS, AV and security systems.
• Provide design optimization and value engineering.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and engineering changes.
• Design LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, telephony and data centre infrastructure.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, risks and schedules.
• Lead FAT, SAT and handover.
• Mentor engineers and enforce standards.
• Support commercial, procurement and project controls.
• Prepare ICT designs, layouts, single line diagrams, rack elevations and detailed drawings.
• Oversee installation quality and ensure compliance with standards and project specifications.
• Plan IP addressing, VLANs, network segmentation and redundancy.
• Completion of as-built documentation, O&M manuals and handover documents.
• Ensure compliance with TIA, ISO, Cisco and client standards.
• Support project planning, risk identification and progress reporting.

What We’re Looking For

• ICT infrastructure design for Project structured cabling, fibre optics, and Networks.
• HLD, and LLD documentation, coordination, commissioning, and problem solving.
• Delivery of Network Interface Control Document (NICD) based on multi-disciplines and stakeholders
• Design LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, telephony and data centre infrastructure
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Lead FAT, SAT and handover.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple commissioning activities.
• Strong understanding of AV-over-IP technologies, TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, IGMP Snooping, Dante, and AES67.
• Data centre networking, cybersecurity basics, virtualization, automation, Cisco / Palo Alto / Fortinet knowledge.
• Holds Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP.
• MS Office, MS Visio, or any similar drawing tools
• Proficiency in Wi-Fi pre and post heatmap survey software

Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor in Electronics/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering in appropriate discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience and/or
• 7+ years' experience in ICT construction engineering, testing, and commissioning.
• CCNP/CCIE, PMP, RCDD or equivalent preferred
