Job summary

InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a proactive GRMS Technician to install, maintain, and program GRMS components for reliable and safe operation of hotel systems in a luxury beachfront setting. You’ll support day-to-day IT needs and energy efficiency initiatives.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, strong verbal and written communication, and solid knowledge of hotel technology principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science from a reputed institution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills demonstrated through previous experience with spreadsheets.
• Strong knowledge of hotel technology principles and practices.
• Familiarity with organization design models and decision-making frameworks.
• Effective presentation, communication, consulting and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures.
• Responds to Health and Safety-related requests immediately.
• Responds to guest requests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Operates, maintains, and programs all GRMS components and cabling.
• Ensures optimal performance of GRMS equipment and servers via preventive maintenance.
• Evaluates equipment usage and energy efficiency.
• Completes work orders with due diligence, keeps daily logbook, maintains shop drawings and programming files.
• Completes tasks assigned by IT Director or delegates.
• Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the area.
• Reports potential safety hazards and participates in emergency response as directed.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures
• Responds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety
• Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner
• Operates, maintains, and programs all GRMS components and cabling
• Ensures the optimum performance of all GRMS equipment and servers by effectively following the preventive maintenance routine
• Evaluates and appropriately respond to equipment usage and energy efficiency
• Completes all work orders with due diligence
  • Maintains a daily logbook highlighting problems, solutions, and activities
  • Maintain GRMS shop drawings and programming files for each room type
  • Maintain equipment catalogue and tagging directories
• Completes tasks as assigned by the IT Director or its delegate
• Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area
• Reports and documents potential safety hazards
• Participates as directed in the emergency response team

What We need from you:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science from a reputed institution
